The LEED Professional Credentials indicate professional excellence and a strong depth of knowledge and practical understanding of the LEED Rating Systems. Preparing to take the LEED AP and LEED Green Associate exams is a process; it involves more than taking just one course.
The key is a thorough understanding of LEED. USGBC is your source for LEED and green building education, providing you with a robust selection of educational offerings – including study and reference guides, LEED Faculty-led workshops, online courses, live webinars, and supporting resources.
Four Steps to Passing Your LEED Exam
- Download the GBCI candidate handbook for the credential you are seeking.
- Determine if you meet eligibility requirements. The LEED Green Associate eligibility requirement can be satisfied by taking one of USGBC’s LEED workshops or online courses. To take the LEED AP exams, you must have previous experience with a LEED Registered Project within three years of your application submittal date.
- Register for the exam at gbci.org.
- Start studying! See the table below for a listing of USGBC courses, reference and study guides, and other resources that can help you prepare for exam day. Also, check with your local USGBC Chapter to see if they host group study sessions in your area.
